Executive Director

12 month contract, potential to renew
40% role (£50k p.a. full time equivalent)

The Thames Estuary Partnership (TEP) has worked tirelessly and successfully since 1999 to stimulate debate and decision-making amongst key stakeholders along the river Thames, aiming to make it the most sustainably managed estuary in the world. New urban development and planned river crossings make this function even more vital – we’re now at a critical stage of our development and are looking for a new Executive Director to take the organisation forward.

Based at University College London, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering our new strategic plan and harnessing fundraising opportunities and membership growth to ensure maximum impact and income generation. This is an exciting opportunity for a distinguished individual with strong networks in development and environmental engagement to join a small, passionate team of staff and trustees in a worthwhile cause.

As Executive Director, you will be TEP’s primary ambassador, responsible for meeting and persuading senior executives to join as members, building positive relationships with existing stakeholders as well as be responsible to the trustees for the strategic direction and operation of the charity including all finance, governance and compliance issues. A diverse role, you’ll need to have excellent personal networks and knowledge of the commercial and economic context of the Thames estuary.

This position is offered flexibly, 2 days or equivalent a week. You can find a full job specification available here and our current Business plan here.

To talk informally about the role, please email suggesting a suitable time for a call. You can use the same email address to apply no later than 5pm on 3 February: for this, please send a CV and covering letter explaining what you can bring to the role.
