Modular Design At Royal Albert Docks Pushes New Limits

The logistics and programming of constructing a 14-acre site is typically a complicated drawn-out process. In their recent update Farrells explain that specification of modular design has simplified and accelerated proceedings, as well as ensuring high-quality design during multiple phases of production. Already the project is demonstrating the positives of precast and modular design with brick-clad and exposed concrete twin-wall core panels being on site.

Mr Xu Weiping, Chairman and President of ABP, stated the importance of the Royal Albert Dock scheme particularly in respect to promoting trade between London and China in post-Brexit referendum uncertainty. He said: “It is an endorsement for London that there is already a great deal of occupier interest from Asia in this project and today is a positive step forward in cementing east London’s future as one of the most exciting places to do business.”
