The new Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA) project advisor team will work with London boroughs to develop new Thames flood risk management schemes.
Experts have been appointed to find strategies to help protect households across London from flooding. The LLFA is funded by the Thames Regional Flood and Coastal Committee.
Councillor Julian Bell, London Councils’ executive member for transport and environment, said: “We know the effects of flooding are devastating and destroy lives and homes.
“The new team will offer councils help and advice and bolster their efforts to keep residents and properties safe, while ensuring they continue to get the support they need from partner agencies.”
